Kathy is a member of the Higher Education Consultants Association (HECA) and the Southern Association for College Admission Counseling (SACAC). She regularly visits college campuses and attends national and regional conferences to stay current on all aspects of the college planning process. She holds a degree in Systems Engineering from the University of Virginia and a Graduate Certificate, with Distinction, in College Counseling from UCLA.

An Air Force veteran, her passion for working with and mentoring students grew with her own three children (now grown) and her years of serving as a volunteer in their schools, her community and church. When not guiding students, you can find her trying a new recipe, attempting to master the art of making sourdough bread, country line dancing, or adventuring near and far.  Kathy and her husband, Michael, of 33 years live in the Lake Norman area of Charlotte, NC.
